#23 Summarize your thoughts about this program and learn more about where to go from here

My favorite discoveries on this learning journey were that I was impressed how my fellow co workers all helped each other with various things as we all worked along. If someone was struggling someone else was willing to show them how to get through it, and that was team work. GOOD JOOOB!!!!!
I am not sure about life long learning goals. I have found more resources on the web than I had ever known to be out there. Maybe somewhere they may have been my goals. Not sure.
Some of the task were a little challenging than others. There were times when I wanted to give up, but I perservered and made it through, because I am not a quitter. I think If there was another program offered I would sign up. It was a lot of fun. It was also very interesting to discover new things .

Week 9: Podcasts, Video & Downloadable audio

I found youtube to be an easy site to navigate through. There were so many videos to choose from. I chose a video from the sixties because that is where my favorite music comes from. I wasn't aware of many videos that youtube had to display.

I looked at the podcast thing and I don't think it is for me. I tune out talking on the radio. It just doesn't grab my attention. I either need to have a two way conversation, or read things on my own to figure things out.

I have read about the downloadable books the library has to offer and also the other resources that are out there. I don't think that I will ever use these resources though. But now if someone I know asks me about it I am more informed than I was a couple of days ago.

Week 8: Online Applications & Tools

I found this site to be an interesting tool. Zoho Writer and Google Docs would be very useful if you didn't have a Microsoft Office Suite installed on your computer. I played around with this site and created test some documents. I was not up for the challenge of posting them though.
Web 2.0 Awards is an addicting site. I wanted to see what almost every link was about. There was almost something in every site that interested me.

Week 7: Wikis

I thinks Wikis are a good concept to share information with groups of people who need to collaborate on a project or have opinions about different things and need to come together as a team or unit. I learned about editing wiki pages and seeing which pages were already edited and when they were edited. Wikis are an excellent way to share knowledge and resources with other people.

Week 6: Tagging, Folksonomies & Technorati

I surfed around Del.icio.us and I really liked this site. I was able to find good articles on the breed of dog I have. I though I would share a picture of what he looks like with who ever views this. Isn't he cute!! He is one of four in our family.
Technorati was a great search engine. I found it very user friendly and easy to manuever through.

Week # 5 Play Week

Yahoo! Avatars U.K. & IrelandCreating an avatar was more fun than I was expecting. Choosing my hair style and clothes was very time consuming. I have also set up My LibraryThing site. This task was pretty easy to do. Making a list of books is an easy way to keep track of things you have read and share with your friends

Week # 4 RSS Feeds

I have set up my Blogline account. It was pretty easy. Now I can keep up to date with all my favorite things, as I consider myself a news junkie. I have also explored Merlin. I am familiar with this site because of the computer training I did through Thompson. I subscribed to Merlin to keep myself updated on the latest news and technology.

Thing # 5 and Thing # 6

I have created a Flickr account. I didn't realize how addicting this would be. I find a picture I am interested in and this leads me to another then another and so on. I can see me spending a lot of time on this site. I have found some of the interesting sites on Flickr, like trading card maker, Mappr. I never realized how many sites were out there for picture editing and the cool stuff you can do with them. I am looking forward to investigating this further

7 1/2 Habits Lifelong Learners

I never really thought about beginning something with an end in mind. I usually I just dive right in and get started. I enjoy learning new things. I have already adopted most of the the habits as my own. I am not sure about the tool box. I do use the people around me to help me when needed. My favorite one is PLAY. I think that when you need a stress reliever, play is the only way to go!!

Tech Fair

The Tech Fair was very informative. I gained a lot of information that I hope I will be able to use both in the library and at home.

test post

blogging is all new to me. It seems strange sharing my thoughts with a computer.
